PRP/Stem Cell Joint Injections
Find Relief From Painful Joint Disorders
You don’t have to go through life with a painful joint disorder. Thanks to PRP/stem cell joint injections, you can receive the relief you deserve. This treatment uses your own stem cells and platelets to expedite the healing process by utilizing growth factors and stimulating your body’s natural healing process.
PRP/stem cell joint injections repair damaged cells in the joints, tendons, muscles, spine, and ligaments. They can do wonders for your happiness and overall quality of life. Here’s a closer look at this procedure and how it works:
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated blood sample that contains platelets, growth factors, and pro-healing/regenerative substances. When platelets are activated, they play a key role in the healing of tissues including tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. Since PRP is prepared from your own blood, the risk of reaction is low.
In addition to relieving your symptoms, PRP/stem cell joint injections can create actual healing. Believe it or not, this treatment may reduce or even get rid of your need for medication and/or surgery.
PRP/Stem Cell Joint Treatment
To perform a PRP injection, following a simple blood draw, a sample is placed in a centrifuge to separate platelets and inject the rich ones into the area causing you pain. To conduct a stem cell injection, stem cells are harvested from your bone marrow or fatty tissue and injected into the area of concern through ultrasound or x-ray guidance that allows for precise placement.
For amniotic stem cell products, mesenchymal Wharton’s Jelly Cells are defrosted utilizing special preservation protocol prior to injection. These treatments are performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthetic and possible light sedation and are not covered by insurance. All injections are administered by our Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine Specialist, Dr. Gene Levinstein.
